Terraforming Mars Board game Unboxing First Impressions.

Hello here is Nick and today we will unbox one of the best rated games on BoardGameGeek, Terraforming Mars, which remains in this ranking for several years. I played this game with a friend previously and loved it! So we decided to buy it. At the end of this video, I'll give my first impressions after playing two games, okay? Don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel if you liked the video.

The art of the box is very beautiful! with Mars concept art. Let's start by opening the box. Terraforming Mars is a game of medium complexity that can be played by 1 to 5 players with an average starting time of around 3 hours, or maybe 4 if you are learning to play.

In the game you will play represented one of the corporations hired by the World Government to make Mars habitable. As soon as we open the box, we can see some of the cubes. I believe you use them for production. These small cubes represent copper and count as 1 credit in the game.

This other bag is full of cubes and here we can see the golden cubes, which represent gold and count as 10 credits in the game you have less gold cubes than copper cubes like you can see. We also have the silver cubes that represent 5 credits in the game.

The idea is that you use these 3 resources in the game to build the projects. The other ziplocks contain markers for the 5 players. They come in 5 colors: yellow, blue, green, black, and red. We also have these 3 white cubes, which are the markers of oxygen, temperature and generations ...

We also have these elements, which I believe. Yes, they are the players' boards. They do not look very resistant and have low quality. They look very fragile. They look like a piece of paper, instead of something made of resistant cardboard. The game comes with extra ziplock bags for you to pack the components.

And here we have the first pack of cards. These, I believe, are the project letters. there should be about 300 of them. And here we have the letters from the corporations. we have a lot of them and you can see how much they encourage variety. At the beginning of the game you choose one and use its different skills.

And in the end here we have the start-up corporations. And we also have ... this ... I believe these are the rules ... yes, they are letters containing a summary of the rules. And right after that we basically have cards with images encouraging you to buy the expansions.

We have Hellas and Eliseo, Venus Next, Terraforming Mars Prelude, Colonies and Turmoil. And the second pack of letters also contains projects and some advertising letters. Next comes the manual but we'll look at it later. Art is really cool! then we have the game board.

The map is pretty cool, you have Mars in the middle and the score around the board. The oxygen meter is at the top center of the board and you can see the blue tiles where you add the oceans, and we can also see the objective and start tracks at the bottom.

In addition we can see the temperature marker on the right. And here we have the punchboards with the things you can build on Mars. I'll start by removing these from here that I believe are the projects you can build on Mars. They should be placed on the board as soon as you build the respective project.

And here we have the ocean tiles. As you restore oceans on Mars you place these tokens in places marked with water on the board. And the second punchboard is pretty much the same. We have more green tiles. On one side it is green and on the other side we have cities.

The green tiles are called vegetation and are basically used to increase the oxygen level and earn points at the end of the game. It is well written. You can understand the rules and he responds to several edge cases. But I find it very textual. It is difficult to read without images and I feel you should have more of them to illustrate examples.

Now let's go to my first impressions of the game. I played it twice with my wife and found it really fun to play. Overall, what makes it fun is that every time you play the game it looks different, because they have more than 200 design cards and each time you play you will download a different card.

So you start creating a focused combo on a specific aspect of resources and then you build more, and more of the same resource, becoming a specialist in producing that resource and then converting it into other resources. So it was really fun to play.

We played with start-up corporations and now we are going to play by testing the other corporations that give you other initial bonuses and during the game that are fun and make the gameplay different to every game. The creator ran a campaign on Kickstarter a month ago to create a Big Box for the game, because as you can see the components are not of the best quality, so the big box campaign adds 3d models of each project and also an organizer because as you can see the box comes without any type of organizer.

I supported this project and as soon as the Big Box arrives I will unbox it for you and show you the organized one. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe to my channel to continue giving support in creating game unboxing, and how to play videos ..
