Battletoads review - why all the nitpicking about the game doesn't make sense !.

Hello Bears šŸ‘‹ the toads from the new Battletodes would say. And so that you understand in the game there are really a lot of strange jokes, as if they were invented by small children, and not by adult screenwriters. Who also know and understand what the original game was.

But as you understand, a lot of time has passed, the old audience has long grown up and most likely it has almost no time to play, but new players are unlikely to be able to normally perceive the fact that was popular almost 30 years ago. But the question is, will the new audience be able to accept the new style and graphics well? As you can see, not really ...

Although here the point is more that they draw conclusions by listening to reviews only by old uncles, who are just that part of gamers who played the original and, as it turned out, cannot accept the fact that now the game has become different ... Basically, everyone criticizes the new toads for their visual style, they say that it is generally terrible and has no right to life! But wait.

Of course, it was necessary to change the characters, the graphics also needed to be redone, because our world and the world had changed. And in order to win a new audience, you need to make a game that corresponds to the spirit of the times - so to speak.

Yes, the characters and the whole environment are angular, but there is grain and comics in every frame. Yes, all the characters look as stupid as possible and are constantly doing some kind of game. But you will remember what the original toads were! I actually didnā€™t play, but only looked at the videos on YouTube and somehow I didnā€™t see a too serious story there.

There the toads and their opponents looked in the spirit of their time, but there was no cool and, most importantly, at least a little meaningful plot ... And I also tried to watch the old cartoon a little and did not see anything like that there either.

So, I can't accept the nitpicking that there is some kind of trash going on in the game and Iā€™m ready to sit and argue in the comments as much as I want. And now Iā€™m not trying to say there that there is a great plot and I liked it. Actually, I didn't really like it all.

Well, the nitpicking that the main villains are not some cool aliens, but just figures are also strange in my opinion. I'm almost sure that you all like the cartoon Gravity Falls, and who is the most important and evil villain? Correctly a triangle.

A triangle from another dimension, which wanted to capture absolutely the entire existing world. So why, then, can you admire this in one piece, but refuse to even play another, because the main villains are two pentagons? Are there many corners? But seriously, I understand, it's just that these figures here also look stupid and somehow caricatured.

Not serious, not brutal and generally childish. But wait, the game looks childish without it. So if you accept the visual style and the dullness of the plot, all this will fade into the background and you can start enjoying the game. In fact, finding fault with the plot in bitemap is quite strange.

Everyone compares the game with the recent Street Of Rage and says that they did everything right there. We chose the right visuals, did everything for the fans. Well, I agree, the game was made for the fans, but they also updated the visuals, just not so dramatically and stylistically remained in the late eighties.

But if you look at the plot, then there it is, as it were, too, not very much and it is not to say that it is very cool. In short, I do not understand all those who scold toads for their stupidity. This is normal and I generally liked it. But what everyone praises is the gameplay.

Because it turned out to be very funny, varied and, most importantly, fascinating. And here I absolutely agree with everyone. It was very fun to play, the levels were almost never boring, they changed in time and it even seemed to me that the developers are very fond of old genres.

It can be seen how they love platformers, bitemaps, racing and, of course, Space Invaders. Well, I liked almost all the mini-games. They dilute the gameplay well. I don't even want to think about the high. But there is also a downside, some difficult levels were interesting to pass, they somehow created a desire to prove to yourself that you can pass the level and with each new attempt you got closer to victory.

In general, sometimes the game managed to create for me a real challenge that I wanted to complete, and sometimes this ā€œchallengeā€ was too boring and difficult and I wanted to somehow skip it or turn the game off altogether. But if you are not one of those who can force yourself to complete the level hundreds of times and constantly die - at low and medium difficulty levels, you can turn on the invulnerability function.

It can be turned on after several unsuccessful attempts to complete the level. Feels like these few attempts are about 15 pieces, but they sometimes helped. The first time I used this in the third cosmo level. There really were a lot of opponents and I can't imagine how you can go through it without this thing.

And now I'm telling you how difficult the game is and how sometimes it can tickle your nerves and I understand that the game is not childish at all. Well, or rather, at medium difficulty, only the graphics and the plot remain from the children's game.

As for the rest, it is straight hardcore hardcore and I would not allow a child to play this. You never know how he will throw at everyone screaming. But then again, I don't think it will be that bad at an easy level. I think everyone can play there comfortably.

To summarize the feel of the game, I can say that I have the most complaints about the fact that everyone is so praised, mainly due to the fact that the game is sooooo complicated. But she is cheerful, and therefore, although I have questions for her, she remains good.

What then comes out? Top game and you need to run to buy? Well, as I said in the last video, there are games that seem to be good, but they seem to be not, but definitely not bad. That's exactly what the new Battletodes turned out to be for me. I cannot recommend it unequivocally.
