Cyberpunk 2077 News

In the latest Cyberpunk 2077 News, we have a new look at a quality Fem V figure from Dark Horse. I love the details on her boots and clothing. CDPR would also show a new image from the Badlands. I now have a copy of issue 1 of the Dark Horse Trauma Team comic.

The story begins in the Westbrook region of Night City, where Nadia and her Trauma Team are responding to a callout. All her crew are killed. Dodds, Mason, Zander, Simmons and Adson, all gone, but Nadia still manages to save the client. After some time off, therapy sessions and mental health evaluations, Nadia returns to active duty, where her new team keep referring to her as the rookie.

A platinum alert calls them out to Pacifica, deep within gang held territory. During the firefight, the Trauma Team are referred to as Sawbones, by the gang members. One of the Trauma Team Crew, Stratter gets hit. Nadia seems to experience flashbacks from her previous ordeal, and momentarily freezes, while the gang closes in on the Trauma Team.

It seems that the new extraction subject is Apex, the man responsible for Nadia’s former team member’s deaths. Comic books are not necessarily something I normally consume, however the distinct artwork by Miguel Valderrama is quality, and it does provide a few minor insights into an organisation that seems to have evolved into a fan favourite since their reveal in 2018.

The Trauma Team was largely neglected in Cyberpunk 2020, so the additional flavour is appreciated. In the recent CD Projekt Group management board report, a low-quality image was included of polish influencers playing Cyberpunk 2077. Not newsworthy, but the reaction to this blurred image in certain sections of the Net was tantamount to borderline hysteria.

Some choomba’s were experiencing a spiritual epiphany, while pathological liars were having a clickbait orgy over it. It’s not exactly a secret in Night City, that I think Fem V is hot, but even if I ask my AI to enhance 224 to 176, there is literally nothing to work with here.

CDPR were effectively forced to respond to misinformation on microtransactions and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer game. This stems from the financial report that I covered in the previous news video, where President of the Board, Adam Kicinski answered a question on microtransactions.

In their rebuttal, CDPR would state “Don’t believe the clickbait”. As part of their 2077 illustration contest, CDPR would release the four pieces of Fem V artwork used to promote it. Mike Pondsmith would reveal some new lore details. For example, the UK in the time of 2020, was essentially a chaotic mess, however following the events of the fourth corporate war, now it is a personality driven state.

The central European countries have unified, but due to the High Riders revolt, this means that they no longer have access to the advanced technology and weapons that the ESA previously monopolised. Some notable cities were also wiped out. Mike cites the example of Bonn, in Germany, which had a specialisation in banking, but was destroyed to deny Arasaka any logistical advantage.

Mike confirmed that the Carbon Plague did indeed occur in the main timeline but only a handful of individuals were affected. But that does mean there are actually a couple of mutants walking around, however these would be incredibly rare. It does open up a potential interesting encounter in 2077 though, if one of the infected survived that long.
