The Elder Scrolls 6 ● Analysis of Todd Howard's interviews about TES 6 and Starfield.

While we are waiting for the E3 game exhibition, and in particular the presentation of Bethesda Softworks, which I will also broadcast on my channel, the full version of Todd Howard's interview appeared on the network. And the journalist asked him, perhaps, the most interesting questions for most, namely about the games The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield.

Let's take a closer look at all of his statements in this interview regarding these games. Todd Howard's answer to the waiting time for TES 6, namely: “The long wait for the sequel only shows that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has not lost its relevance since 2011.

I know about all the jokes on the Web regarding the game, but even on the Nintendo Switch became a hit. Wherever the project came out, it sold great. Players love it, and thanks to mods in Skyrim, you can regularly return. This experience made it clear to the team that The Elder Scrolls VI should be designed to be fun for ten years.

”As I understand it, Todd Howard wants to make it clear that there will be a lot of things in the game that will keep users in the game. for a long time, such as, for example, construction, the generation of random events and quests, of course the active support of modders, some elements inherent in any sandbox game that can entertain players on an ongoing basis.

The main thing is that they do not get too carried away with this and do not generate a second Fallout 76, but paid due attention to full-fledged quests, relationships with non-playable characters, and specific goals. Further Todd Howard noted that the developers are aware of the desires of users to quickly see the continuation of "The Elder Scrolls".

The authors will try to surprise fans with new technologies and great graphics. According to him, when fans see TES6, they will understand why this game took so long to develop. Here he means that when parts of a franchise are released regularly, say, every year, the players get used to them and all the changes are often insignificant and imperceptible, and sometimes even absent altogether.

But if you give the project time, and in our case and wait for the release of the new generation consoles, the results will be obvious. It's like, for example, not seeing a person for 10 years, and then meeting him, usually people change a lot over such a period, but if you see this person every day, then for you he will always seem the same, unchanged from day to day.

The thought was just that. Then Todd Howard spoke about Starfield as well. “This game will have a special take on science fiction. In the same way, Fallout interprets the post-apocalyptic setting in its own way. Elder Scrolls eventually found its own niche, but at first the game was different - the most ordinary fantasy.

”Here we see a hint from Todd Howard that the game will place a strong emphasis on identity, working out its own lore, most likely there will be races with its features, and the cosmic world will live according to its own special laws, not familiar to us, after all, it was not for nothing that Todd Howard mentioned the TES series, initially it was really similar to a thousand other fantasy games, but already from the 3rd part of Morrowind, the team worked thoroughly on own unique fantasy world, with its own history, customs and races, making this universe recognizable.

Well, you can say the same about Fallout, there are many games and films about post-apocalypse, but it is in the Fallout universe that everything revolves around the atmosphere of the 50s 60s years, which also makes it recognizable in its own way. Howard said that Starfield would put an end to the development of sci-fi games for him, a project he always dreamed of seeing in this setting, and noted that Bethesda has the resources to complete such a huge task.

But as you can see, ideas cannot stay in the minds of creators for a long time, and a game on space themes will still see the light of day. And once again, I repeat his statement: This is the kind of project he always dreamed of seeing in this setting.

When asked when to expect new information about the game, Howard replied that fans will have to be patient. In conclusion, Todd Howard noted that Starfield will be the next full-fledged game after Fallout 4. And then The Elder Scrolls VI will be released.

That is, there is a clear emphasis on all their previous statements, about which I have repeatedly said that the studio does not perceive Fallout 76 as a full-fledged project, but it is exclusively an experiment of the company, and a desire to try yourself in something new.

The term "daring experiment" did not arise out of the blue. That is why Todd Howard does not even consider Fallout 76 when he says that Starfield will be the next full-fledged game after Fallout 4.
