Resident Evil 2 Tribute Daymare: 1998 Coming to PS4, Xbox One - IGN Now.
We're getting a double dose of Resident Evil in April. If you love survival horror games, especially ones made in the 90s, then April 2020 is the month for you. I get spooked very easily, but I am excited because Daymare 1998 is coming to PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 28 in North America and Europe.
That is not long after the Resident Evil 3 remake arrives on April 3rd, 2020. Yep. You're being spoiled this April with horror. The PS4 version of Daymare will be available in both physical and digital form, while the Xbox One version will only be available digitally.
Perfect for the Xbox One Sad Edition. Now Daemon in 1998 excuse me Daymare 1998 started out life as the fan remake Resident Evil 2: Reborn When it was announced in July 2015. That was just a month before Capcom revealed its own Resident Evil 2 remake and forced Italian indie studio Invader Games to shut down its homage.
But Invader wasn't deterred. Just like the zombies that you fight and Resident Evil, and instead started making its own third person survival horror game that builds upon the work done already, but swapping out everything Resident Evil 2 for sort of original ideas and names.
Fast forward to September 2019 and Daemo—excuse me—Daymare was released for PC as intended. It's pretty similar to Resident Evil 2, featuring the story told through multiple character perspectives, environmental puzzles over the shoulder, shooting and inventory management.
Everyone's favorite. Its Steam reviews are mostly positive. Daymare features a character that looks very similar to Resident Evil 2's Hunk. He works for HADES, which is an acronym like STARS and the inventory system is the same. Also did you know Jonathan, that Daymare is a real thing.
I did not. It is defined as a frightening or oppressive trick trance or condition experience while being awake. Wow. Yeah, that is amazing. We are learning here and as soon as we learn more about Damore- DAYMARE 1998, we'll share with you right here at IGN.
