Pokemon Trading Card Game Battle Academy | Unboxing | Pixel Slayers 4K.

Hey guys. This is Sari Taurez for the Pixel Slayers! Today we're gonna do a quick unboxing of the Pokemon Trading Card Game Battle Academy! It says "Easy to learn, fun to play!" For how much I understand, this is a way to gamify teaching the Pokemon TCG, like how you play it and everything.

Hence easy to learn fun to play. "Join the Pokemon Trainers at the Battle Academy". So it has three complete Pokemon trading card decks. They're all kind of even. So if you just want to pick up and play Pokemon TCG this is a great way to do it. Because I know I have a ton of Pokemon cards but my wife doesn't.

The whole building of decks, everything like that, can be a pain. Especially like us, if you've got a family and you don't have a ton of time - you just want to sit down and play a Pokemon battle! You can do that with this set - it looks like. So let's go ahead and peek inside and see what it looks like.

So now I've got the plastic wrap off, let's go ahead and open the box. It's got that nice new board game smell. I love it. It looks like this is a board... It actually has a board. So this is you can see we have active spot for Pokemon, what you can do during your turn...

It makes it super clear. I used to have a similar spread-out thing like this. More like a poster that came with the original TCG. This reminds me a lot of that except it's a lot neater. Pretty cool! I like it! Next we have, these are the deck guides.

This is kind of a preview of the types of decks that are gonna be in here. We got the Pikachu deck guide, Charizard deck guide, and then - this got a little crinkled in there - the Advanced Rulebook. So, that's pretty interesting. There's a whole list of all the cards that are in there in that deck.

It looks like basic learning on how the whole game works. That's pretty cool. What to do during your turn... this is pretty neat! Because it gives you specific instructions on what to do with your particular deck. And different strategies you can use with it, as sort of an example for players of the game.

Here's the Advanced Rulebook. Fittingly putting Mewtwo on the color. Oh, so there's an Advanced Play Setup. So there's different - haha, shake hands with your opponent, that's funny. There's an advanced style and a more of a beginner play style. So you can try both sets.

That's pretty cool. And I know since I played - because I haven't played since the first couple releases of TCG in the early 00s, late 90s - things like the Stadium Cards, I've never even seen that. So I know I'm gonna be learning about this too. Tag Team Pokemon? I'm not even sure how that works so this'll be a good guide even if you do know the rules and you maybe haven't caught up with the new rules, this can be a good way to catch up.

These are, I'm guessing damage tokens? For when you get damage. And then GX? Again it has been so long that I do not know what those are for. And now we've got the Charizard deck. It's in a nice box! I like how they do that. And ooo - those are some nice, crisp new Pokemon cards.

Honestly I know that you can get just these 60 card decks for about 8-10 dollars? This whole kit was $19.99. So even if you don't want the board, you don't want the counters and instructions, this is a good deal for getting three fresh new decks of Pokemon cards.

And that Charizard GX is not as sought out as the original Charizard. But yeah, these are some nice crisp cards. I also like that they start out with a fire and an electric deck because then there's not gonna be any weakness exploiting. But I'm thinking with the Mewtwo deck that's when things get a little interesting - that advanced Mewtwo deck.

I'll just leave that here... I'll give you guys a look at the Pikachu deck. There he is! It says Player Two, so if you and your friend are fighting over who gets who... Got a Raichu, some evolution cards in there. trainers, and energies, very good. Then last but not least the Mewtwo deck.

This is for advanced players. That's a nice looking Mewtwo right there. A lot of the psychic energy. All right. And finally a little advertisement for Pokemon TCG online. I know this comes with a lot of the Pokemon card decks. And, I really like this.

It's a coin, it's got the three main Pokemon of these three decks: Pikachu Charizard and Mewtwo. And it is a coin to flip. I still have a couple of these that have like Pikachu, I think Snorlax was on one of them. These would come with the decks. So you wouldn't just be flipping any old coin.

So that's a pretty nice set. I believe that's everything. So you've got the three decks: Charizard, Pikachu, and Mewtwo, the damage tokens, an instruction booklet for each, and this pretty nice looking board! I was able to get this for $19.99 from Target.

I know Amazon is selling it. We're gonna put an Affiliate link down below. I'm really liking this set. Another thing that I like is it says ages 6 and up: and my daughter is 6 years old, and I'm really excited to try this out with her and teach her the rules of Pokemon TCG so we can play together! It should be fun! Let me know if you like this set, if you're planning to get it, let me know in the comments if this seems interesting to you! I know that Pokemon, it's obviously a card game and video game, we mostly just cover video games on this channel - if you're interested in us just covering more card related games, board games, things like that - we're trying to maybe venture out a little bit? Do some different stuff as well? So if you'd like to see more of that let us know in the comments below.
