Unboxing My New BenQ Monitor-Laptop Lamp! | REVIEW of BenQ ScreenBar Lamp.

So the first thing I have noticed when I turned on the lamp wow, dusty. Yeah, I should clean my desk more often it seems, but the main thing is that the lamp is not reflecting on my monitor at all. Actually I was in need of such a lamp for a long time, because I do a lot of my work beside my laptop, but I was afraid that I will throw money away because it will be reflecting on things and I will have to choose if I want to use my laptop or my lamp and I can’t do both, but my fears now evaporated like alcohol from vodka when you leave it in a glass overnight.

The lamp has several, I think I counted 14 or 15 different brightness levels and 8 levels of temperature, meaning that it can’t cook you dinner, but it can go from bright white light to the deep dark yellow which is, I have to say very cozy indeed. The color of urine when you are dehydrated somehow makes me feel good.

My workplace now looks really more inviting than before, I had no idea. Thank you urine color. Also the ScreenBar has one button where it automatically adapts to the brightness of your room. At least developers are saying that, but what it actually does - makes it shine very bright.

So it assumes that you are a bit blind or something. So, now let’s talk about what is wrong with this lamp - well, the controls are kinda bad. It has no buttons. You can turn it on and adjust everything as a touch activated device, but with a great power comes great responsibility, because in darkness you can’t feel where to touch.

I was poking like a blindman trying to put my finger in the right place. The same feeling I had when I was trying to make love with my first girlfriend. Also when you try to adjust the brightness or the temperature you may tap on the right place, but the sensitivity of the touch button is so low, many times absolutely nothing happens.

That irritated me a bit. I’m sure that they have to update this model by implementing some guidance for your fingers and more sensitive touch-buttons. And also, before turning on the lamp for the first time, clean your keyboard, you don’t wanna see that dirt in such a bright light, believe me.

Some things you can’t unsee. Or you can get lucky, as I did. Because I have found some food on my table after turning on this ScreenBar for the first time. That was a pleasant surprise, I was quite hungry after all this work. So, the verdict - if you are in need of such a lamp - is this BenQ ScreenBar is a good choice for you? I should say yes, because it has probably everything you may need from a lamp and of despite kinda poor controls it has cool features implemented.

I would give it 8 vodkas out of 10. That’s a lot. And keep in mind, that they are not paying me to say that. Thank you for watching my first hardware review, and if you are some manager in some company thinking that I can review your own device, just send it to me, I will gladly do it.
