Crash Bandicoot 4: Tawna is Fantastic in the new Gameplay !.

The release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is approaching, and the developers of Toys for Bob continue to gradually reveal new details about this true heir of the first three Crash Bandicoots made by Naughty Dog. The latest in chronological order is the announcement of a new playable character, Tawna Bandicoot, a historical character, who appeared since the first chapter of the series: kidnapped by Cortex, there she represented the ideal target of Crash, a sort of princess in danger that needed to be saved.

So many years later, however, it could not be re-proposed such a character relegating him back to the role of mere speck, which is why in Crash 4 Tawna will be a playable character, like Coco, Neo Cortex and Dingodile, the latter confirmed as being lately.

Not only that, but it will be really different from how everyone remembered it. From the point of view of the plot, the existence of this new Tawna has been justified in a practically perfect way: Cortex has altered the space-time, and consequently dimensional gaps have opened towards other realities.

It therefore comes from what Toys for Bob defined the "Tawnaverso", that is, a world in which she is the protagonist of her own story. This idea opens up further perspectives, which perhaps in the final game will find their own space: if there is another Tawna, then there is also a good Doctor Neo Cortex and other versions of the most famous characters? During the short introductory cinematic, Tawna is not even presented as a real ally: so much so that she chooses not to join Crash and Coco, leaving them very disappointed; she is in fact strong, independent, determined, and prefers to act alone.

Team play doesn't seem to be right for him; perhaps during the adventure he will undergo a psychological maturation of some kind, but for the moment it is not known. For Tawna, then, there were particular difficulties: it was necessary to find the right balance between the vigorous body and the light one, between audacity and determination, between the character who acts alone and the one who is in any case predisposed to listening.

Toys for Bob has thus tried many paths: an Australian Tawna, an explorer, a climber; in the end they opted for a curious mix, embellished with numerous details that are only apparently dissonant: punk hair, fluorescent pink legwarmers, studded leather jacket and patched trousers.

In short, stylish and original. As in the case of Cortex and Dingodile, the introduction of a new character is also functional to the proposal of an alternative style of play, which can favor the experience of always new situations and replayability.

Neo Cortex, for example, snaps in go ahead and use his gun to create platforms by exploiting enemies; Dingodile sucks everything up with his vacuum cleaner, and takes the speakers present with his tail. Tawna's approach to the levels is instead more dynamic, and based on interaction at a distance thanks to a high-tech harpoon, which also allows you to attack from a distance, as well as being agile, quick, dynamic and powerful in the movements.

He is the only character to have a wall jump like Super Mario, which can only be used at certain points in the levels; What's more, its ground crash allows you to destroy multiple stacked crates or take out several enemies with one shot.Tawna will thus represent a whole new way to play Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.
