Best Expansion-sized Mods for The Elder Scrolls Oblivion! | Biggest Mods of Oblivion!.

Hello, my name is ColdBeer and this is the  second entry of “Time to Install again”   series. Let’s talk about The Elder Scrolls IV:  Oblivion and what amazing mods you can download   to expand Oblivion’s world, story, add more lands  or change the game from the roots in general.  I will talk only about a small fraction of  available content.

I tried to gather the   best mods there are, but I definitely missed  some of them because there are thousands of   entries and it’s impossible to check them all.  Please feel free to add your favourite ones in   the comments. Anyway, if you played Oblivion a  long time ago it might be interesting for you   to see what additional lands and locations  have been created for this wonderful game.

Let’s start with Kvatch Rebuilt The Battle of Kvatch was, without a doubt,  one of the most memorable parts of Oblivion.   After the near-disastrous battle with  the forces of evil Mehrunes Dagon,   the city was left in flames and ruin. And many players, including me,   had a deep desire to somehow help  the city restore its former glory,   so Kvatch Rebuilt is a mod that lets you do  just that – rebuild the city from the ground up.  It’s divided into phases that span the course  of several weeks, with numerous added quests,   new dungeons, and even a new companion.  Mod is completely lore friendly,   so you can install it even if you never  played Oblivion for better immersion.

Nehrim: At Fate’s Edge This is an award-winning total conversion  mod that completely overhauls almost   everything about Oblivion. It takes place on an  entirely new, original world in an area that’s   roughly the size of Cyrodiil. That alone will  let you imagine the real scope of this mod.  Everything in Nehrim was custom-built and placed  by hand instead of procedurally generated,   the world of Nehrim is much more tightly designed,   teeming with content and secrets  to discover at every turn.

But the biggest difference between the two is how  the skill system works. In Oblivion, you advance   skills by using them – swing that sword enough  times at an enemy and your blade skill goes up.  Nehrim ditches this and instead uses  a system where you gain skill points   by defeating enemies and solving quests.

Just  like in the Gothic series or, to be honest,   almost like in any other RPG. You can then  use these points to train with a teacher   who will help you improve your skills. In my opinion the Elder Scrolls system   was perfect and this is a downgrade, because I  like the realism of the Elder Scrolls system.   If you swing the sword more then you obviously  keep getting better at swinging, right? In example if you drink vodka a lot, you will  probably get better at tolerating large amounts   of it before you get drunk.

And in this  new instance it’s all backwards - you save   someone from monsters by swinging sword but  instead of getting better at swords you can   choose to get better at drinking vodka. That is  ridiculous if you look at it from this direction.  Anyway regardless, this mod is probably  a must play for every Elder Scrolls fan   even if you don’t want to play Oblivion  again.

This is a totally different game. Elsweyr the Deserts of Anequina Visit the province of Elsweyr! High  beyond the hills of the Niben lies   the great desert plateau of central Elsweyr.  From sandy desert wastes to rocky badlands,   from grassy savannahs to jungle coast.

This new  region includes new landscapes, four new towns,   more than twenty quests and 400 new NPC's.  Oblivion had 850 and Shivering Isles added 90   more, so you can imagine what 400 new NPCs may  look like and the size of this mod in general.  Also you will encounter several custom  monster-spawns and new creatures in   the wilderness.

Also elephant mounts,  new sub-race, new plants, ingredients,   armor, weapons, and other items.  This is no doubt one of the best   and also the most popular Oblivion  landmass mod on nexusmods website. MERP - Middle Earth Roleplaying Fans of the Lord of The Rings  are quite excited about this   one although this mod has no quests implemented.  Wait, what?  Yeah, that’s why it has the word roleplaying  in the name - you have to use your imagination   and make up some quests inside your head.

Oh well.  Here you will find many famous regions to explore,   like Shire, Blue Mountains, Mirkwood, Minas  Tirith, Moria, Hobbiton, Isengard, Minas Morgul   and many others. Here you will also find some  NPC's and enemies, but basically this is a land   meant for exploration.

Also be prepared for what  lies within one of the halls in Moria! Muahaha! Valenwood Improved The mod adds the province  of Valenwood to the game.   Here you will find 8 new cities - this is huge,  enormous. That’s what she said. Oh shut up.  Along with 8 cities, here you will find new  villages, new Ayleid and fortress ruins,   new caves and mines, many new NPC's, new armor  and creatures and 12 new quests.

Mod originally   is created in german, but translation is available  and you will have no problems installing it. Morroblivion While you wait for Skywind you can try  Morroblivion which allows you to play   all of the quests of Morrowind,  including Tribunal and Blood Moon,   within the Oblivion's engine.

Although to play it  you will also need to have Morrowind installed,   because it is a developers deal with Bethesda. Otherwise the company would probably ban  the product, but now it generates more   sales of both games and everyone is happy. In Morroblivion all quests, NPCs, creatures,   items, and graphical features have been  converted, upgraded and created by hand to   bring a true-to-the-original experience that takes  advantage of many of Oblivion's advanced features.

So basically it is a full Morrowind just  with a better engine. Not the best engine,   but obviously a bit better, because Oblivion  is 4 years younger than Morrowind. So,   if you feel nostalgic, play it  now, because Skywind will be   released around the year 2264 anyway, your  great grandchildren will play it on Mars.
