Quaran-Teen Minute Top 5 Video Games

{Intro music}. Hi everyone. Jake here from the Baltimore County Public Library, bringing you my top five favorite video games that I have spent quarantine with. First up, I have the perfect solution if you're feeling isolated and it is the team video game, Overwatch.

Overwatch is a first person shooter, but because of the team environment, all the different characters, aren't always just trying to kill the enemy. You have different roles, depending on which character you pick. You might pick a tank whose main goal is grabbing objectives and soaking up damage.

You could pick a healer whose whole goal is to keep the rest of your team alive or a damage dealer whose goal is to eliminate the enemy. Each character has their own strengths, weaknesses, and special powers that makes experimenting with your play style and the look of a character, a lot of fun.

And it's a game that you can very easily play with one friend and then a bunch of other random people and have a great time. I'd highly recommend Overwatch if you're looking for something to really bond with your friends over or just, you know, play by yourself.

The Baltimore County Public Library has Overwatch available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Next up let's swing into my second game and that is Spiderman on PlayStation 4. Spiderman is just a pure joy of exploring New York, while web swinging around, and yes, you get to fight enemies , usse web gadgets, solve puzzles, interact with various people, such as Mary Jane Watson and Aunt May.

But really the thing that makes the game just so amazing is the exploration of New York City while flying around on your webs. There's a quest where you get to take pictures of different sites around the city, ome of them in the Marvel universe, some of them real sites that when I'm stuck inside really made me feel like I was taking a virtual tour of the city.

If you like action packed, fast paced adventures that have some great story, but a lot of open world exploration, give Spiderman a try. It's available on PlayStation 4 from the library. Perhaps like myself you really enjoy strategy games, things where you can really think out your plan and plot it out and want to manage an empire.

My poster back here is from one of my personal favorite games, Total War. However, the game I'm going to talk to you about today is Civilization 6. Civilization, six, you start at the stone age of your civilization and you build it up all the way up into modern era.

And you have a number of different ways you can win the game. You could send your faction to build a colony on Mars. You could have the tourism industry booming in your, in your, civilization, or you could conquer by military. You could have a religion that has encompassed most of the world.

There's a number of different ways to play and explore. And each of the different factions and civilizations have their own strengths and weaknesses. It's a lot of fun. It's a long game. It's a perfect thing to dive into when we're all stuck inside.
Civilization 6 is available on Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One through the library.

So there's really no excuse, give it a try. If you're like me, you might have found closure a little bit stressful, and you're looking for something a little bit calm and relaxing, and you give it a try and Stardew Valley, which is available in PlayStation 4 or Xbox One is the perfect game to try.

Stardew Valley follows a character whose grandfather gives him his farm and you will arrive there. And the farm's a little beat down and it's about building this farm up. So sort of a farming simulator, but you can also explore the town, befriend different people, explore a dungeon with some quick, fast paced, adventuring, or fish.

And the pacing of it is just so calm and relaxing. As you sit there and you water your crops, you check your chickens and eggs, you can build up, you know, different equipment to either then go in the dungeon or get a better fishing rod to catch better fish.

And you're just slowly accumulating wealth as you can purchase more seeds or do whatever you want. It's a lot of fun. Um, and it's just so calm and relaxing, waiting for several days for your crops to be ripe in order to harvest and sell. Again, that's available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One through the library.

And finally, my final game that I have just purely binged through closure is the Last of Us, Part Two. The Last of Us, Part One is one of my all time favorite video games and iss also available on PlayStation 4 as a remastered version. It follows Joel and Ellie navigating the post-apocalyptic wasteland that is the U.

S. After a fungal zombie virus outbreaks and destroys society as we know it. The Last of Us, Part Two takes place after the first game and has basically you dealing with the repercussions of the decisions your characters made in the first game. I can't talk about too much without spoiling the franchise, but it's a game that if you're looking for amazing combinations of stealth and brutal combat and a lot of really heavy themes combined with amazing gorgeous environments, it's a really, really good game for you.

It does have some very heavy and mature themes though, so be prepared to deal with those. There's a couple of times I actually had to put the came down and go play something else because it just, you know, was a little bit too much at the moment. It's a gorgeous game, though, a lot of fun and very emotional.

So if you're looking for something that gives you that cathartic release, The Last of Us, Part Two and The Last of Us, Part One, both available through the library on PlayStation 4 are the perfect options for you. All right. Well, those have been my top five favorite video games spend the closures with, um, I hope that you enjoyed it and maybe you picked up some other games that you might want to try since all of these are available through the library.
