Terminator: Resistance (PC/PS4/Xbox one) Review and Gameplay.

Hello Everyone, my name is Vladislav, and i glad to have you here on my channel. So in today's video, we going to take a look closer at "Terminator: Resistance", which was developed by "Teyon" and released by "Reef Entertainment" in 2019 for "PC", "PlayStation4" and "Xbox One".

And before we going to talk about game itself, first of all, i would like to note, that for "Terminator" as for the franchise, 2019 was a very big year, if i can say that. And especially if we remember recently released "Terminator: Dark Fate" movie, DLC characters for "Gears 5" and"Mortal Kombat 11", mobile game that was based on movie, and of course "Terminator: Resistance" itself.

And "Terminator: Resistance" is really huge event for all "Terminator" fans out there, because basically, there was no any big game in series since 2009 "Terminator: Salvation". Now speaking about "Terminator: Resistance" itself, first thing that i want to say, that the game is turned out surprisingly well, and why it so surprising? Because, as i said before, the game was developed by "Teyon", which is a Polish video game development team, who was previously responsible for games like 2014 "Rambo: The Video Game", and "Heavy FIre".

So those games, if you played them, you will know what i mean, was arcade like rail shooter games, and i won't say that any of those games were bad, no not at all, it's just nowadays, arcade rail shooters isn't popular anymore, and that's it. But "Terminator: Resistance" as you can see, is a full scale first person shooter, with many interesting gameplay elements in it.

About which, as always i will talk about in more detail. And as always, let's start with game's storyline. Events of "Terminator: Resistance" take place, not so long before John Connor will lead Resistance to the ultimate victory in the war against the machines.

And here, i'll tell you straight, that future war in "Terminator: Resistance", looks and feels absolutely stunning, just like in original James Cameron movies. Here we have everything, hordes of Terminators, flying H.K's, which is just like in movies, make people hide in the dark.

Plasma rifles, lot's of fan service, and all this accompanied by musical arrangements on already favorite themes from original films. And all this events, we are going to see through the eyes of Jacob Rivers, the last survived resistance member of the "Pacific Division", who is now marked as number 3 on "Skynet" termination list.

And reason why? You will have to find out throughout game. By going forward a little bit, i want to say that game have multiple endings, like in "Fallout" and "Metro 2033" series, that directly depend on actions and choices, that player will make throughout game.

And well, as i already mentioned "Fallout" series, "Terminator: Resistance" of course, does not take that much time to complete it. Yeah, that's also depends on difficulty settings, which we have 4 in this game, but still "Terminator: Resistance" is not your typical corridor first person shooter, like "Call of Duty".

In this game, we have lot's of sidequests, which as i said, can directly affect game ending, lot's of an "RPG" elements are present in game also, like a system of dialogs and relationships in between game characters, level up system, crafting and weapon upgrade systems.

Crafting, is a very basic and self explanatory in this game, but weapon upgrade system is more interesting. Throughout game, player will always find various crafting materials, and some electric parts, can be used in weapon upgrade, but only plasma weapons can be upgraded.

Speaking of weapons and shooting in this game, i want to point this out, how interesting and most importantly canonical, weapon shooting are done in this game. Regular rifle, only will help against small "Scout Terminators", while same time, it won't do any damage at all, to any well protected unit like "T-800".

And because of that, first half of "Terminator: Resistance", feels like if you play more stealh action oriented game, while at second half, when player will get his hands on plasma rifle, all action in game will become much more intence. There is a great variety of enemies exist in game.

As i mentioned, from small "Scout Drones" to legendary "T-800", Flying H.K's, and even few times you will have to fight against huge "Hunter Killer" tank! Yeah, which is insane! Speaking of Terminator models and some story elements of "Terminator: Resistance", sometimes game starts to feel as a big fan fiction story.

Aside of new "Terminator" models, that we never saw before in previous games and movies, we going to encounter with a lot's of familiar ones, like "T-850". Which is a always thought as an upgraded version of "T-800". So, what i mean by that, i thought "T-850" appeared only close to 2032, which is "Future War" timeline of 3rd "Rise of the Machines" movie, which is as we know now, are not a canon anymore.

Or one more! During storyline sometimes characters will remember Commander Perry, yeah, remember Kyle Reese mentioned him in very 1st movie, so also, he was a playable character in 2002 "The Terminator: Dawn of Fate", and as a one of main characters of that game, Commander Perry survived until very end.

While in "Terminator: Resistance" he's dead. Well, how unfortunate it is... And so just in case, events of 2002 "The Terminator: Dawn of Fate" and events of "Terminator: Resistance", take place right before "Skynet Core" was destroyed, so basically events of both games, is an interpretation of same events, that we saw also in 2015 "Terminator: Genesys" movie yeah! This is insane.

But that's small moments like this, i think "Terminator" fans will find very interesting about this game. And yeah, few vital game elements i almost forgot to mention, is first a "Critical" hits. As you can see in video, lot's of Terminators have red glowing parts, like an eyes, so when you shoot at them, most of times you will do critical damage to Terminators.

And mini games, which is lockpicking and hacking.
Those 2 elements are parts of level up system, so those two, i actually recommend to level up as fast as you can, so later parts of game, will be at least slightly easier. Because usually behind lockdoors, you may find a stashes with ammo and crafting parts, and hacking we need basically to infiltrate inside "Terminator" camps to do side quests, and also sometimes to open some chests, that contain, once again crafting items and upgrade chips for your plasma weapons.

So yeah, i think that was most vital information about "Terminator: Resistance", i think, if you are fan of "Terminator" series, you will absolutely love this game. And as for "Teyon", which is once again are developers of "Terminator: Resistance", i say, they done very good job with the game.

This one feels as a huge step forward from "Rambo: The Video Game", which i actually found as a very fun arcade style game by the way. But yeah, if you are "Terminator" fan, then definitely try this one. I personally hope, that this game will be a massive success, and we won't have to wait another 10 years until next big "Terminator" game.
