FASTER JUST CANNOT BE FASTER! - Nubia Red Magic 5G

Marquez Brownlee called this phone the fastest smartphone of 2020 ... Is that so? I don’t know, I’m not a specialist in phones, I had only two of them and I missed it. But I have this phone, so today I will try to tell you why it is good. Just first, let's do it together. Wow, every time a better feeling. I have the Nubia RedMagic 5G in my hands, the newest model in the RedMagic gaming phone lineup. Maybe you remember, maybe some of you watched, last year I talked about the previous model. Let's see how much has changed, what has been added, what has been fixed. Well, I suggest starting from the main thing, from the cherry on the cake - from the screen. Actually, it is because of him that MKBHD called this phone the fastest. That is, I am sure that in terms of characteristics it is definitely somewhere at the top, but it is the screen that makes it so unusual. It has an AMOLED display with a size of 6.65 inches with a refresh rate of 144 hertz. Even my work and gaming desktop monitor has a lower frequency. And as far as I know, this is one of the first phones on the market with such a frequency. Is it worth it? That is, do you really need a 144 Hz screen on your phone? Is there a difference at all? Well, I have been using a 90 hertz smartphone for a while, although that was a long time ago and now I only use my Pixel 2, which has a 60 hertz screen, so in this comparison the difference is huge, naturally. Everything is super smooth, every animation, every swipe is very nice. And in games it is felt, although not all games can boast of support for phones with a high refresh rate. Many have a limit of 60 frames. But games like Dead Trigger 2 or Real Racing 3 do deliver 144 frames per second, and all of this, of course, is at maximum graphics settings. Because this is a gaming phone, which means that the filling should be serious here.

Snapdragon 865 5G processor, 8 or 12 gigabytes of RAM and 128 or 256 gigabytes of internal storage.

12 is already for those who want to flex, I guess. I don't know how appropriate it would be to talk about the fact that this phone supports 5G mobile communications. At the moment, 5G is only available in some countries, in Asia, in some places in Europe and the States. Where I live, I don't have her, so I can't talk about the benefits of 5G, and I'm unlikely to be able to in the next couple of years. But what I can tell you about is cameras. There are three of them, because even Google no longer puts one camera in their phones. There is a 2 MP Macro camera, 8 MP Ultra Wide and a 64 MP camera with a Sony sensor. All this sounds serious, of course, but in reality the cameras are not the strong point of this phone. All the same, this is not a camera phone, but a game phone. They shoot well, there are many modes, many settings. I will say more, here you can shoot video in 8K. Although, better still in 4K @ 60FPS. And the result is great too. But, again, I will not compare the cameras here with the flagship ones. And even more so with the camera in my Pixel 2. It's like comparing the gaming performance of the Pixel 2 and the RedMagic. It just wouldn't be common. So let's talk about games better. I must say that I'm not a phone gamer at all, I usually occasionally play Sudoku like an old grandfather, and I certainly don't get stuck in Call Of Duty Mobile or Fortnite. But I specifically devoted a few days to this lesson in order to understand how convenient it is to play on phones, that is, to conduct long gaming sessions on the phone. And although I turned out to be a real nibbler in witchcraft, I still realized that I prefer to hold a gamepad in my hands, rather than move my fingers across the screen. There is a way out, this phone has a special set with buttons and joysticks, so if you seriously decided to play on the phone for a long time, then it can be done a little more conveniently. Although I don't have such a set, so I can't say how good it is. unfortunately. But it would be great to try such a set together with some cloud service like Xbox xCloud. Roughly speaking, this is simply the activation of the game mode in which you can more accurately adjust the priorities, speed up the processor a little, adjust the controls, enable all sorts of other game functions, as well as set up touch triggers. Although, perhaps they are called differently here, they are simply located as triggers on gamepads. These are two touch buttons that you can customize to your liking, for example one can be responsible for aiming and the other for shooting. They are very sensitive, with minimal delay. It seems like they should make it easier to control in some games, although you need to get used to it, I was not immediately able to get the hang of shooting these buttons, although I play mainly on a gamepad. The phone also has cooling, only now there are air vents on both sides, instead of one as in the previous model, but this also means that here it will have to be protected from water, otherwise everything will get wet. I must also say that I rather did not like the phone. There are two speakers, good stereo speakers. One is located at the top and the other at the bottom. And the location of the second one just confuses me. When I play and hold the phone, I simply close the speaker with my finger, which, of course, spoils the sound. It would be possible to turn the phone over, then the speaker is more open. But sensory triggers are located on the other side, so no. You need to keep it that way if you want to use them. I think you could have chosen a place and got it. The same chin. I don’t know ... And speaking of sound, one cannot help but notice that the phone has a headphone output. I feel like an old man talking about it. Although, I do not even know if there are still so many people left who have not switched to wireless headphones. If you are one of them, then this may be a plus. Do you know what else is in this phone? This is a gaming phone, so it simply must have RGB backlighting. It is located under the logo and under the name of the phone. What else can you tell? What could I forget? In this phone, the fingerprint scanner is located under the screen, this is my first experience with such a scanner. Sometimes it doesn't recognize it and works a little slower than a regular scanner, but it looks cool. It's great that technology is moving forward. By the way, I have not said this yet, but I like the design of this model much more than the previous one, this back part, which shimmers so cool, its very color ... looks cool. The older model has a slightly different look, it is colored, but I think live it looks great too. In the end, in general, I can say that if you have been wanting to update your phone for a long time, if you like playing on the phone, then RedMagic is definitely worth it. It is cheaper than flagships, but more efficient. There are, of course, not top-end cameras, but if you are not an instablogger then you shouldn't worry about it. And the screen ... the screen is something with something. Look at a few more reviews, collect information, collect the opinions of people who think what and then you will understand for sure whether this product is for you or not. This is the video that came out this time. I don't know how useful or interesting it was, I hope at least a little ..
