WHERE THE HEART IS - Recensione ITA/ENG(Sub) | 18 | Hot Games Reviews.

Hello everyone and welcome to Hot Games Reviews, in this review I will tell you about Where The Hearth Is, a game developed by CheekyGimp which you can follow the development on his Patreon. During the story we will follow the events of a boy, who after the death of his mother, will go to live with his father and his new partner.

But after the latter's death, the protagonist will go to visit Monica, his mother's best friend. Here he will also see the daughters of the woman, whom he has not seen since childhood. And from this moment our story will begin, which will bring us a distant knowledge both of Monica and of all the characters that in the meantime we will meet.

As for the Gameplay, the game is a classic visual novel, and in addition to the numerous dialogues that will make us enter into relationships with the many characters in the story, there will also be a large number of choices to make. In fact, almost every dialogue option that we choose will be used to assign relationship points and certain characters.

And at a certain point in story if we have achieved a certain score, we will be allowed to advance to a later stage of the relationship. Since the game is divided into chapters, at the end of each of these we will be given an account of all the choices we have made, although this can be viewed in any moment in the menu.

As for the relationships with the characters, the game is a harem Game, so it will be possible to undertake multiple relationships at the same time, and for each character there will be asked if we intend to continue the relation or stop it in case not we were interested.

As for the story, this probably won't be the most interesting ever, but it flows pretty well. Initially this start as the most classic of the visual novels, but gradually the story continues, this adds small plot elements that however increase the interest in understanding how it will continue.

Speaking now of the characters, these in addition to being many, are all well characterized, obviously there will be some of these who will be a little more open towards us than others, but in most cases, and especially with the main characters, the progress of the relationship will not be so immediate, and often interaction will be blocked by the appearance of other characters and it will take a lot of patience to get to the decisive point of the relationship.

Now as far as the rendering is concerned, I found this well done, but it must be said that in the first hours of the game it is of lower quality and then improves as it progresses with the chapters. The same thing can be said of some models, which at some of the gameplay, these have an aesthetic improvement, which in my opinion they were in great need.

Speaking of the animations, even in this last case, these improve as the game continues, starting from the classic repeated frames, to then arrive at good animations that still remain average. Now I will list the strengths and weaknesses I encountered during gameplay.

With the merits I start with: The Story: Which I found pleasant to follow. Number of Characters: that are many and all different The Characterization: which I found well done The Render: good level and The animations: that even if you have to wait to see them, they're still pretty good Instead speaking of the defects, I start with No music: this one absent throughout the game Recycling: many renderings and some animations are repeated several times, and give that feeling of already seen.

And lastly The Interruptions: it happens very often, that during some relation moment with the characters, it is interrupted for any reason, and this in the long run gets nervous. Now it's time to vote, and what I feel like giving in this case is...
- 7 - The game, even if with some problems, is still fun and still offers its moments of leisure.
