How the Chinese are conquering the world of AAA games on the example of Black Myth Wu Kong.

Hello! Honestly, I'm getting a little scared. I started to notice that more and more cool games are being made in China. Yes, China has a very well-developed gaming industry. But before, these were mostly mobile toys with a bunch of donations, and now they are aiming at full-fledged triple-hey games, and this is a small call to our publishers.

Because if the Chinese want something, they will go to the last and learn to do it perfectly. So it was with the technique and now they decided to conquer the games. Why do I think so? It's simple, I saw Black Myth Wukong and was very surprised how cool it can turn out.

The graphics that we were shown in the demo impressed me the most. And this, as I understand it, is only the fourth version of Anrial. It can really be compared with the one that I saw in the second Last of As. But only Last of Ace was made by a huge team for many years, and Wukong is made by some 20 people who are simply tired of creating donated games for Tencent.

But the graphics do not end there either. Judging by the same video, the game will have very interesting gameplay. Yes, some of the mechanics can be found in other games. The same Assassin, Soul games, Metroidvania, and so on. But delving into the topic a little and finding out who this Wukong is and what these myths are, I realized that in addition to what we have already been shown, they can do even more - much more interesting.

Different types of animals, you can use different weapons and environments to defeat enemies. And judging by the same information that I found about Wukong, it will also be an interesting story with good jokes, although it is a little unclear here whether there will be at least some adaptation of the game for a Western audience so that we can understand jokes and all that ...

Because myths are an ambiguous thing, and people know little about Chinese culture. On the other hand, though, the Chinese are cunning; they don't have to rewrite their history to make it easy to perceive in the West. We are well aware of the myths of Ancient Greece, Egypt and Scandinavia.

So why not understand Eastern culture as well? And this is where I get another interesting thought: We've all recently played Ghost Tsushima, Sekiro, Nio and maybe other games about Japan. This began to develop in people an understanding of what Japanese culture, history really is, and even plunged into their myths, and now they will begin to show us China.

There are already tons of games about Scandinavia, Greece, Persia, Rome, Egypt, Indians and so on, and all of them - wait, wait - teach the history and culture of different peoples at different times. This is very cool in my opinion and this is a huge argument in the debate that games are bad.

Games are very good! Because if you play the right games and don't just look at the violent games, you can learn a lot, but back to the Black Myth Wukong. Why do I believe that the Chinese will begin to conquer the world of triple-hey games. Everything is simple here.

Now our publishers only care about one thing - making a profit in all possible ways. They add microtransactions, a bunch of different editions so that you can spend as much money as possible, but they completely forgot about the new IPs. In recent years, we have all played the same game.

We play part 10 of one game in part 28 of another or even part 75 of the Final! But the Chinese will act on the same principle as with technology. They will make quality games and will not cram microtransactions there; they will make full games and release them right away, rather than splitting them into add-ons to earn more.

Or even if they do, these add-ons will be free. And in 5 years, when they will be on a par with the rest of the industry, they will act like the rest, and here it is up to us how the games will develop. If we succumb to all this and play Chinese with great interest, we can push the idea of full-fledged games.

Well, or not, maybe then the whole world will only start making donated trash heaps and the gaming industry will cease to be cool and interesting. My main idea is that the development of the gaming industry in China is good. First of all for us, because at last good stories will start to return.

But the main thing is that these few projects with which they began to conquer the players are not the last, but the main thing is that these small teams show that they can make a great game and that it will pay off. It turns out that now all the hope of the gaming industry is the Chinese.

It sounds both scary and interesting at the same time. What do you think? Mmm? In short, you just look at Bright Memory, which was made by 1 Chinese sometimes asking for help in some points. You look at Genshin Impact. This is a free donation game, but look at the design and graphics.
