Review of the rules: Ride Europe ticket.

Today we are going to review the Ticket to Ride Europe rules. We will review how stations are built, how we can use them and how to act when we are trying to build a tunnel. And, other rules that can be forgotten or that create some confusion. Let's put the game on the table and see these rules.

Let's talk a little bit about the seasons and how to use them. If the yellow player wants to connect London to Berlin he has to ensure that a station is built here in Frankfurt. At the end of the game he uses the red player route to connect London to Berlin.

Another example. If the yellow player wants to connect Amsterdam to Wilno, he has to build one of his stations before the game is over in Berlin. So that at the end of the game, during the scoring, he can use the black player's route to connect Amsterdam to Wilno.

Take note that the yellow route connects London to Berlin, but not London to Wilno. Why? Because this station only works for a single route. If the player wants to connect London to Wilno, he has to use a third station, placing it here, in order to use the route of the red player.

Only then the connection between London and Wilno is done. We will see another situation with the seasons that does not occur very often. The yellow player has the ticket between Zurich and Vienna, but has no route to make that connection. So, before the game is over, he decides to put a station in Munich and another in Vienna. To use both routes of his opponents, completing his ticket: Zurich to Vienna This is a valid action.

It is a debatable option, as the player will lose 8 points and two rounds to complete a ticket. In this example, the yellow player has a ticket between Zurich and Vienna and another between Sarajevo and Munich. In this situation, before the game is over, he will have to build one of his stations in Munich or Vienna.

By doing so, at the end of the game, he can use the red player's route to complete Zurich to Vienna and Sarajevo to Munich. Let's see a more delicate situation. Imagine this scenario. The blue player wants to connect his lines, for that he will have to use one of the opponents' routes, the red or the black.

To do this he can build a station here or here. The same thing happens to the yellow player, who wants to connect these two routes. To do this, and because the blue player has already placed his station in this city, the yellow player will have to place his station at this point.

At the end of the game, the first player chooses which route he wants to use, leaving the other to the second player. Connecting the routes of the two players. In this example, the red player wants to connect Madrid to Zurich, to do so he has to ensure the construction of one of his stations in Marseille or Zurich, before the end of the game.

Which allows him to use the route of the black player. By doing this, he can complete more than one ticket at the same time. It connects Madrid to Zurich and Madrid to Munich. Remember that "borrowed" routes do not count towards the longest route at the end of the game.

Double routes are only available in games with four or five players, unless you can only use one of the lines. The same player cannot use both lines on a double route. Now let's talk about tunnels. Tunnels are special routes, marked with this thicker line.

In this case I pay from my hand a set of 3 cards of the same color, to start the construction of the tunnel. Then I have to pick 3 cards from the top of the deck. For each card revealed in the same color as the cards in my hand, in those 3, I will have to pay one more of my hand.

In this case, I revealed a yellow card. If I have one more yellow card in my hand, I can use it, otherwise I lose my turn and have to collect all the cards again for my hand. Forcing the player to play additional cards. Let's look at another example.

I want to build this tunnel, but I don't have any green cards in my hand. I'm going to use two locomotives instead of the green ones. Following this example, I will only have to pay additional locomotives if they appear between the 3 letters. When you use locomotives exclusively, you don't pay with colored cards.

In the rare case of not having enough cards available in the deck of cards or in the discard, to draw 3 cards you use only the cards available. The absence of cards is a rare situation, but it can occur. In that case, you don't pay anything extra to build the tunnel.

There are big discussions at the BGG about the tunnels. Especially if we should announce the tunnel we intend to build or not. Some say yes, others say no. Mr. Alan Moon said that the player must: reveal which tunnel he wants to build, pay the cards in his hand, reveal the 3 cards in the deck and pay or not the extra cost.

So, if the author spoke it is spoken. Let's now talk about ferries. Ferries are special routes where we have to pay at least one locomotive license and the other cards of the same color required by the size of the route. In this case we always have to pay two locomotive letters.

It is time to talk about the action of picking cards. The player can draw up to 2 cards from the 5 cards face up or from the deck. You can also mix the two forms. When you draw a card face up, immediately replace a new one, before taking the second card.

If a player chooses a face-up locomotive card, it will be the only card he can draw this turn. Let's see the rules that you cannot forget when playing Ticket to Ride Europe. A double route cannot be used by the same player. The two lines of a double route are only available in games with more than 4 players.

Remember, if there are at least 3 locomotives between the 5 cards facing up, you have to discard them all and pick 5 new cards. Every time you use a ferrie you have to pay at least one locomotive license. You can only build one station per city. To build your first station, you must pay a card from your hand.

To build your second station, you have to pay a set of two cards of any color and a set of 3 cards of any color to build your third station. A player can use a route of his opponents, using one of his stations to complete more than one ticket at the same time.

If there are no cards in the deck, when you are building a tunnel, you will not pay any extra costs. In case you choose to build a tunnel, only with locomotive cards, you only pay extra locomotives, for each locomotive card that you use from the 3 cards.
